It was with great excitement that we got to watch the historic success of the U.S. Youth Worlds Team this past week in Corpus Christi.

On the biggest stage in youth sailing, the U.S. team showed that the future could not be any brighter. To win five medals and capture the Nations Trophy for the first time was awesome.

All of American sailing should be proud and happy to see that US Sailing’s revamped youth strategy is paying off. The launch of Project Pipeline four years ago, coupled with a new-look Olympic Development Program, have been significant and positive catalysts.

The ODP brings together many of the hardest-working youth sailors in the country, and has them training for mutual gain with some of the best coaches in the world. The results are clear.

Congratulations to the 2018 Youth Worlds Team for racing their hearts out, and to all who have supported, coached and believed in them along the way.
