NYYC AMERICAN MAGIC'S BARCELONA BASE LOCATION IS NOW CONFIRMED

New York Yacht Club American Magic will set up a team base within the Marina Barcelona (MB) 92 superyacht facility as the team ramps up its sailing operations ahead of the 37th America's Cup campaign to be held in Barcelona, 2024.

Planning to build out the Barcelona team base is already underway. It will be complete in May 2023, ahead of NYYC American Magic relocating from its current winter training base in Pensacola, FL.

Terry Hutchinson, Skipper, and President of Sailing Operations at NYYC American Magic:
"The operational plan will have us moving to Barcelona to meet the July 1st through October 31st, 2023, sailing in the venue on the two AC 40s owned by NYYC American Magic. The facilities at Marina Barcelona 92 will allow us to focus on our high-performance sailing program and in-house training as we target the 37th America's Cup. Again, we're grateful for Port de Barcelona's support and look forward to training in such a beautiful and friendly city."

Tyson Lamond, Chief Operating Officer at NYYC American Magic:
"The Marina Barcelona 92 site meets all the operational needs of NYYC American Magic and ticks all the boxes with excellent facilities and access points. We look forward to working with the local community and getting on the water in Barcelona."

The process of allocating team bases in Barcelona is now complete. All teams have been allocated base locations in the Barcelona Port Vell area based on their order of entry for the 37th America's Cup. In addition, America's Cup Event has confirmed locations of dedicated America's Cup race village, hospitality, and fan zone areas.
